What did the client request?

Our client wanted to use our tent ceiling liners throughout their tent structures each 30m wide: with 2 units at 100m long and 1 at 70m long all next to each other to create one huge function space. It was for a one day extravaganza ‘NZs Biggest Party’ for Barfoot & Thompson’s Centenary Dinner with 3800 guests seated. They were wanting a flat seamless ceiling on which to project images. Liner walling right around the entire interior was also required to hide the tent structure framing and give the effect of being in a completely different space. We had to design a weather proofing system between the structures with liner ceiling being seamless throughout.

What makes this project unique?

This was one of the largest single liner projects completed by our company in our more than 50 year history. The complexity started with our client using two completely different tent structure brands. To complicate things further they had slightly different overall widths and eave heights so we created a false eave connection around the perimeter to negate this issue. A production schedule was required to ensure a 3 person lining fabrication team cold complete the work required over a 3 month period. All departments were involved to provide support.
