What did the client request?
The client wanted weather protection on his deck. He had three gaps, which he wanted a combination of blinds and fixed panels.
What is unique or complex about the project?
The apartment was on the first floor of the apartment complex and we were unable to penetrate the walls, roof or floor. The design had to be signed off by management prior to installation. We built the frame onsite to ensure a perfect fit rather than trying to measure and recreate in the factory.
As it was a retirement community, Covid meant we were not able to access the facility until at least level 2/orange, which caused huge delays in the project. And we were contacting them saying we had access to other communities, but they still would not let us in.
What were the results of the project?
The customer is very happy he can now use the verandah all year around and we have already had other residents in the community order a similar arrangement.
