What did the client request?

The client had just built a trampoline park and wanted the whole thing covered in shade.

What is unique or complex about the project?

This was a very unique and complex project. Being on the beach front we had to factor in very high winds. We also had to factor in that the ground surface was sand. This made it very challenging when we concreted in the posts. We could only dig the holes at low tied or the holes would fill up with water.

Working at heights was also very challenging as the centre pole was a height of 7m. Before the pole was erected in place we rigged it up with ropes and a climbing harness. Nick the owner of the trampoline park wanted to maximise the amount of shade. This meant that we had to include more posts and make the shade sails kiss in the middle sections. We also had to factor in such areas as the basketball area so when kids were shooting the ball into the basket the ball would not hit the shade sails.

What were the results of the project?

The client was very very happy with the end result. It completely exceeded his expectations. He has recommended us to many more clients. Because of the location and the size and scale of the job we have also got direct business from the project.
