Advanced Textiles Association New Zealand Members Recognised at 2025 IAA Awards

The Advanced Textiles Association New Zealand (ATA NZ) entered 29 projects from its Awards for Excellence into the global competition, which has celebrated innovation and design in specialty fabrics for more than 75 years. Sponsored by the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA) in North America—formerly known as IFAI—the IAA competition showcases the best in technical skill, creativity, and fabrication across 46 categories.
The winning entries represent an impressive range of applications, from marine and automotive interiors to shade protection, commercial interiors, and even sustainable solutions for aquaculture, including a fish farm project—demonstrating the versatility and innovation within Australasia’s specialty textiles industry.

Winning companies include Mortimer Upholstery and Marine Covers, IMS Canvas – Shade, Screen & PVC, TM Covers, Tasman Canvas, Shade Plus, Hawkes Bay Trim and Canvas, Douglas Outdoor & Textile Innovation, Interiors & Coverings Ltd, Fabric Structures NZ, and from Australia, Coastal Coverings Pty Ltd, K1 Marine Trimming, and Kustom Canvas & Vinyl.

“Being recognised at an international level highlights the exceptional talent and innovation coming out of New Zealand and Australia,” says Amanda Newport, Executive Officer of ATA NZ. “It’s inspiring to see our members’ craftsmanship standing proudly alongside the best in the world.”

ATA NZ President Greg Hills adds, “These awards reinforce that our region’s textile fabricators are world-class. Competing on this stage brings global attention to the skill, creativity, and quality that define our industry.”
