We are delighted to congratulate the seven graduates, Amy Davison (Bay Canvas), Eh Taw Bo Thaw (Straitline Canvas), Ella Dodd (Kolorful Kanvas), Emma Melrose (Charman Motor Trimmers & Upholsterers), Melanie James (Tasman Canvas), Richard Simonsen (Canvasland) and Shona Sergeant (J’s Design) of the Industrial Textiles Level 3 qualification! Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to mastering the skills of the industry have been truly inspiring. As they take this next step in their careers, we recognise the significant achievement this qualification represents.
A special thank you to our industry suppliers—Cordall, Cool Awnings, Reid & Twiname, Contender, WWiggins, and QCD—who provided gifts for all the apprentices. Their support plays an essential role in fostering the future of our industry. It was a nice touch to include gifts from the textiles industry this year to be more relevant rather than marine-related items, ensuring the graduates received something more meaningful to their craft.
Looking ahead to 2025, with the introduction of the new qualifications, we expect to see a rise in apprentices enrolling in both the Level 4 program and the combined Level 3 & 4 qualification. This growth marks an exciting time for the industry, reinforcing the importance of skilled training and the bright future ahead for our apprentices.
